Howdy Smash Flashers! We are happy to announce that we’re introducing new ways to expand our Flashy community that will benefit both us and you.

Recently we added a directory to our growing list of features. This directory will be used for the benefit of users who have downloaded our free Flash templates and gone on to publish a website with them.

Adding a website to the directory will be easy as pie, you simply visit the directory page in the Smash Flash website and click the submit a site link at the center of the page there. There are various different categories and you can submit your website to up to three categories, but hey there! Make sure those categories are really relevant. Submitting to an irrelevant category will be unproductive for both you and us.

So what’s so great about a directory?

Well, to put it simply, it helps people find you and better yet, it helps relevant people find you. As you may already know, links helps search engines find you. The more links you have pointing at your website, the more likely search engines will find you in the labyrinth that is the internet today. The more those links are used, the better. Getting a link in an active directory is a great place to start, particularly, as getting listed under a relevant subject increases the relevancy of those links and tells search engines what you’re about. That’s even before you consider the general traffic of people who will be searching for specific services. Surfers who reach you through a directory are more likely to stick around at your website, as they were looking for you or services that you can offer by choosing the relevant directory category.

How does the directory help us?

Well, just like you, we’re a website trying to promote itself. The more links we have, the more traffic we generate, the better it is for us. By becoming a sort of, central station for websites of all kinds, we are increasing our importance. As we increase our importance, we’ll get ranked higher, by getting ranked higher; we’ll be getting more traffic. Some of this traffic will head right back in your direction and so… the circle of web life continues in a symbiosis that is beneficial for all.
